Connie Briscoe signs Cant Get Enough, her fifth novel, during her Cleveland Public Library appearance today. But she says shell spend just as much time advising budding writers how to get published. I understand that burning desire to write, she says. But theres no magic formula, says the Maryland author. There are few rules when it comes to writing. Still, Briscoe — wholl dispense tips at todays program — must be doing something right. Her 1994 book, Sisters and Lovers, was nominated for an NAACP Image Award. And Cant Get Enough — about black desperate housewives — is a hit with readers. In the end, it really is up to you, she says.
