Magnolia Bakery, which began life as an adored bakeshop on Bleecker Street in in the West Village of Manhattan, will open a location in Lyndhurst. The shop was famously featured in the show “Sex and the City” back in 2000.

When it opens at Legacy Village in the coming months, the bakery will be the first location in Ohio. A recent shift to private equity leadership has resulted in a robust expansion plan. In addition to a dozen company-owned locations, and 40 or so overseas franchise locations, Magnolia is planning to roll out more than 50 new franchises and company-owned locations in the United States by the end of 2027.

The bakery is known for its fresh banana pudding, red velvet cupcakes, brownies and blondies, cheesecakes, cookies and more.

The bakery is planning for an autumn opening.
