Earlier today, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James announced that he’ll embark on a solo acoustic concert tour this fall. He aims to visit historic theaters and performing arts centers across the states and will perform at the
Agora Theater on Nov. 10.
Longtime touring drummer David Givan will accompany James, who’ll perform a “career-encompassing repertoire” that includes songs from his forthcoming solo album,
Uniform Distortion. Hurray for the Riff Raff's Alynda Zegarra will open the shows.
"I am looking forward to exploring all sorts of songs stripped down as they first occurred in their natural habitat — just voice and guitar. Although I have played many shows by myself, this will be my first tour of this style, and I am excited to see everyone out on the open road," says James in a press release about the tour.
One dollar per ticket purchased will go to the Waterfall Project, whose beneficiaries will be United for A Fair Economy and National Bail Fund Network.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday.
