About a decade ago, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s then-education director Bob Santelli organized a series of trips that were more than mere tourism, delving into the music-related culture of such regions as the Mississippi Delta, Louisiana and San Francisco. Anyone who was on those trips will tell you what fun they were and what a sense of camaraderie developed between the travelers, as the connections of the Rock Hall enabled them to meet with music-related icons and have “backstage” experiences most tourists can’t.
Now Cindy Barber and Mark Leddy, owners of the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern, are planning to replicate the experience of those tours. They’ll be the guides for a rock ’n’ roll excursion to London and Liverpool from October 2-9, organized by Kollander World Travel (best known for their European trips, including their famous polka tours.)
