Singer Sammy Hagar will headline a special benefit concert on Aug. 15 at the Agora. Hagar will perform with his backing band, the Circle, which features Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson.

The concert will benefit the Akron Children’s Hospital and local food banks.

“We are thrilled to welcome back our friend Sammy Hagar to our town," says organizer Phil Lopez in a statement. "After having to cancel the appearance last year [at the Rock Hall] due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are looking forward to raising money to help kids fight cancer and help out with local food banks. Sammy has always been a great supporter of our charity events and welcoming him back with his band the Circle is one of the best things to happen here for a long time."

Tickets to the Sammy Hagar and the Circle concert at the Agora go on sale at noon on Friday.

The audience is limited to 1,500, and ticket options include a select limited number of VIP experience tickets which also include a VIP pre-party, special VIP show seating, and complimentary sponsored food and beverages.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for VIP ticketholders and at 7 p.m. for general admission.
