Who hasn’t found their name a bit boring at times? Shout the name “Mike” at a baseball field and watch 30 heads swivel.
So Dan Miller — or shall we say the former Dan Miller – decided to do something about it. Last fall, the Akron native began the process of legally changing his name from Daniel Michael Miller II to “The” Dan Miller Experience. (Yes, the quotation marks are part of the official spelling.) The 24-year-old rapper says his new name is a much truer representation of himself. The name Dan Miller just didn’t jibe with that whole creative artist thing he has going.
His mother was a bit perturbed, however. “What? That was my first reaction. I was not happy about it. I named him. It was a mom thing I guess,” Experience’s mom Sherry Weisner told the Associated Press. ”But after he explained it, I understood. Dan Miller was a very boring name.” – Rebecca Meiser
