Details are scarce right now, but longtime WTAM personality is no longer with the station, according to Ohio Media Watch, which shared Frantz’s Facebook post announcing the move today.

This is one of those posts no one likes to make, but alas, it must be done.

I am no longer employed by WTAM 1100.

What’s next? Working on that as we speak.

More to come….

My best to all,
Bob

We’ll let you know if we hear any details. If you have some, get in touch.

Vince Grzegorek has been with Scene since 2007 and editor-in-chief since 2012. He previously worked at Discount Drug Mart and Texas Roadhouse.

  1. Frantz was hard on the unemployed. As another commenter wrote, Bob chastised him when he was unemployed. I also heard Frantz’s unrealistic claims that there was work for anyone who was looking, and this includes the years from 2008 through today. Now Frantz will get the first hand opportunity to feel what unemployment feels like. Like the previous commenter stated, perhaps we’ll see Frantz working as a Walmart greeter in the very near future (although that will not be enough to feed his family).

  2. I like and listened to Bob Frantz, but last week on the SPEW with Zac Reed I gasped when he said to Zac Reed that he was surprised he was not drunk while in the studio and some other unflattering remarks. I am not a Zac Reed fan, can’t believe people voted him in again, but this was hitting below the belt. I was taken aback.

  3. I enjoyed Bob Frantz…he improved each year….Cant believe Ray Davis the producer gives 3 time Drunk Zack Reed any airtime…Ray Davis is a buffoon

  4. Bob Frantz was GREAT. The rest of the quote “personalities” should follow his lead. They are all crap. Only in Cleveland would any of them have air time!!!!

  5. As a caller, I think it is poetic justice. He called me a liar because I disagreed with him. No rebuttal, no identification of what I led about just a blanket statement with no defense

  6. How typical for this liberal, progressive and politically correct bunch of A holes that dominates the North East Ohio area. When they can’t control someone that tells it like it is, the fire them!!! What happen to freedom of speech and the first amendment? Then they wonder why the country going hell in hand basket. All I can tell you is if we keep going in this direction, none of us will be able to do or say anything that goes against the but-heads running this country!!!

  7. He WAS a douche-bag. Good riddance. If you in any way offered a different take on an issue, he cut you off, then proceeded to berate you without any chance of rebuttal. He was the worst.

  8. Severance pay makes so we won’t know WTF happened until he get the last check. Only then we might find out.

  9. Franz seemed to on all the time. He must have volunteered to be a fill-in when anyone was off for their program. He was a pious, preachy, smug, and holier-than-thou a-hole.
I wrote several e-mails of complaint to WTAM about this host. Franz was an embarrassment to Cleveland when thinking about his message from our city was heard in 38 states and part of Canada. May have tolerated him as a nut case on a lower power local station. That’s about the best I can say.

  10. Libs hate the truth and Bob told it. He is a buffoon only in the eyes of the blind. It is so easy being a Lib. They use emotions not logic. Bob is a man of logic with the truth on his side.

  11. dave, Bob wouldn’t know the truth if it fell on his head like a ton of bricks. He used emotion; logic and evidence were unknown to him. Did he ever tell the truth about Obamacare? Heck no!
All he did was lie to high heaven and hope you were too lazy to check him on it.

  12. god damned lazy ass democrats who voted for that stupid piece of shit in the whitehouse twice did not like Bob Frantz. He must have been a hell of a guy!!
