“This is our third year participating in Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day,” explains CPR Gallery Manager Jeff Curtis, “Which has become a signature event for the Print Room, where we also have regularly-scheduled Pinhole Photography workshops every six weeks throughout the year.
“Pinhole photography is an easy way for people to get involved in the basics of working with analog darkroom photographic processes, yet you can get some surprisingly fantastic images on your first try,” he says. “People are always surprised and excited by the results they come up with after making their own camera out of a simple cardboard box. I love the often very surreal and dream-like images that are possible with this process — I’ve been a big fan of pinhole photography since I was a kid.”
This year, at the end of the workshop, participants can vote for their favorite works that have been produced during the workshop, and three winners will each receive a deluxe pinhole camera kit.
The Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day workshop is $35 for nonmembers and $30 for members. It includes all supplies. Prepaid registration is required. To register, email info@clevelandprintroom.com or call 216-401-5981.
