On Friday, Nov. 2 — the West Side Market’s 100th birthday — the chefs will shop at the Market to purchase items to use in the dishes they’ll prepare for the Gala. The Gala will take place the following day in the West Side Market. In addition, the event boasts a VIP reception, tasting stations, live music and more.

“We both share three major passions in life: family, cooking and the city of Cleveland,” Sawyer and Symon said. “The West Side Market helped inspire our passion for using fresh, flavorful foods and spices to create dishes that celebrate the emotions food brings — comfort, delight, satisfaction and more. The Market really represents the families that infused their cultural identities in their cooking and helped lay the foundation for the culinary resurgence Cleveland is experiencing.”

A limited number of tickets are available for pre-sale here with the remaining tickets going on sale next month. The ticket price is $250 and includes valet parking, tastings of the chefs’ signature dishes, an open bar and commemorative 22-ounce bottles of Butcher’s Brew from Great Lakes Brewing.

  1. sorry but the Market is getting to be a bit over rated……with a few exceptions with the inside vendors the outside produce vendors are awful…….everyone gets their produce from basically the same place and most are there to rip you off…….a lot of fruits barely make it past a couple days at home……..some of the bakery stands inside are priced outrageous…..charging for cookies/pastries by weight??? you buy 2 small cookies and you’re looking at $3-4$

  2. Yeah…bit overblown…I’d think you kids would want to keep it simple and affordable…
    Guess not…
Cool that Zimmern is in on this though but $250 is out of this Clevelanders budget….

  3. It sucks that the average Clevelander can’t even go to this. We are the reason the Market has lasted 100 years.

  4. I am sure all of you how are unhappy about the ticket price can understand that the purpose here is to raise $ and wish everyone involved much sucess in that endevour, we all love the Market.
