Ward 17 Councilman Martin Keane Credit: Cleveland City Council
Another way to put that: Cleveland city council is expected this evening to vote to accept the resignation of Marty Keane and the approval of Charles Slife as his replacement. In keeping with city council’s most treasured and dear assault on local democracy, Keane announced his resignation exactly two years into his term, which, by city charter, means that his selected replacement, pending obligatory approval, will serve the next two years and not have to run in a special election.

“Charles has the heart of service and has my full faith and support,” Councilman Keane said in a press release. “I know the people of Ward 17 will be excited to work with him.” He knows this, of course, because the people of Ward 17 will have no other choice in the matter.

  1. Sounds like Vince is starting to get to some of these bastards. . . Hopefully, Council will shrink to 14 people. . . or better yet, 8.

  2. Thank goodness for Vince in exposing these never ending shenanigans with Our beloved, rubber-stamp, city Clowncil!!!

While we’re at it, it’s time to get a recall petition for Taxin Jackson, and thief Budish, and forcibly remove both of these crooks out of office once and for all!!!

  3. Boy Chris Quinn sure seems in a bad mood today, writing all those inappropriate things about an actual journalist.

  4. “No one ever listens to your opinions” and “you totally suck ass” says all the people who are spending time reading and responding to your opinion pieces.

  5. Keep down voting me, you ogres. Proves not only are you reading and responding, you’re coming back again and again. Way to drive your point home.

  6. Piss on all of you. How many of you even have a dog in this fight?
Howe many of you even LIVE in Ward 17? I do…
