William D. Williams, the brother of Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams, died after being shot sometime around 2:50 a.m. today on Grantwood Avenue.

William was 34. He was shot once in the head.

Cleveland police identified Dana Johnson, the mother of two of William’s children, as the primary suspect in the shooting. She has been charged with aggravated murder.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Johnson is presently listed in “critical condition” following a suicide attempt on a Pennsylvania highway this morning, just hours after the shooting in Cleveland. The U.S. Marshals Service reported that she had died in the attempt earlier today before correcting their information. (As such, Scene’s story is now updated from this morning.)
