Cleveland police Sergeant Robert Strollo was arrested around 1 p.m. on March 5 for soliciting a prostitute, according to the department. The 47-year-old, who’s been with the department for almost 20 years, was then booked into city jail. He faces a first-degree misdemeanor solicitation charge.

Fox 8 reports Strollo is currently out with an extended illness and had recently been demoted and reinstated. He’d been suspended 15 days without pay and relegated to patrol officer until August 28 for allegedly allowing a bouncer at the Crazy Horse strip club to assault a man back in 2013. The man was arrested for assault that night but the charges were later dropped. He sued Strollo and the city in 2015.

In 2014, Strollo, along with two other Cleveland police supervisors, was disciplined for failing to provide sufficient oversight of officers under his command who gambled at and solicited free food from a gas station at East 40th and St. Clair. Strollo received a five-day unpaid suspension stemming from his actions, or lack thereof, during January, February and March of that year.
