“We do this to show our support for our fellow officers, locally and nationally, who are manning the front lines,” a CPPA statement read. “We do this for those suffering from the devastation being caused to our community and our law enforcement families.”
In a statement, the local Black Shield Police Association, the union representing black officers, said that their organization and the community they serve was not officially notified of the demonstration. (Scene received no official media notification either.)
“We denounce this demonstration as dismissive and divisive,” the statement from Black Shield President Vincent Montague read. “Demonstrations like this … divide safety forces within their ranks and serve only to further marginalize and alienate community members from the same safety forces charged to learn from, guide and protect them.
“This demonstration will impede progress and redirect progressive narratives away from Constitutionally protected community voices attempting to enact critical reforms.”

Yea, this is a really bad idea. The timing and look is horrible. But I am ok with that, it is long past time for the general public to fully understand what the CPD really thinks of us.
We are garbage in their eyes. Don’t matter what race you are.
Hey! WTF!
I didn’t get my official notification either!
Imagine basing your entire individual identity on the color of your skin, your sexual orientation, your gender or your religion.
Then imagine how easily you could be manipulated by people that control information.
I haven’t kept exact count, but since George Floyd was murdered, at least a half-dozen blacks have been murdered on the East Side. Why isn’t BLM protesting those murders? Is it because black lives don’t matter if they’re taken by other blacks?
The pieces of this deception are falling into place. First Corona – lockdowns, quarantine, military deployed
Then Floyd – racial division, riots, lack of leadership
Now – outrageous demands from radicals who have made you all lay in the street and apologize to them after they destroyed your city, military activated
Soon – more lawlessness and chaos as planned
But then – a nationalized police force will be initiated
And then – we’re all screwed
And next up, Taxin Jackson will have his hand out yet again for another 50% income tax hike on us folks that actually have to work on this corruption-filled, dump of a city and county!!!
Cooks like TaJackson, and cohort thief Budish, need to be recalled out of office NOW!!!
Black Shield association is divisive in it’s mere existence. Case closed. Do your job and stop whining like babies.
What did the “White Shield” group say?
Oh, sorry I forgot.
“STOP MURDERS OF BLACKS” the big sign on the front page says.
Will the black community ever take this seriously when it come to black on black murders?
What some police have done is absolutely deplorable and disgusting but, if your black, you have a vastly greater chance of being murdered by another black.
Your house is on fire and the faucet is dripping, where do you direct the majority of your attention?
Why the fuss over 60 seconds of symbolic speech?
The biggest problem facing African-Americans has nothing to do with police officers.
The biggest problem facing African-Americans is that the typical African-American family has only 1/10th the wealth of a typical white American family.
Even Native American Indians have a higher home ownership percentage than African-Americans.
So do Hispanics.
How can poor African-Americans reasonably expect equal justice when they can’t afford to pay for the best legal representation as more prosperous Americans can?
Hey seven, 18 million white people live in poverty. 8 million blacks live in poverty. Why do you lump all white people together?
Public House, how much money you have greatly affects how many opportunities you have.
It also affects how well you are treated by others.
A person wearing the best clothes is usually treated better by most than someone wearing a t-shirt, flip-flops, and sweat-pants.
A person who can afford the best legal representation usually receives a better legal outcome than someone who has to rely on a public defender.
Not every African-American is poor, and not every white American is better off than African-Americans, but what I said is still true– that is, the typical African-American family has only 1/10th the wealth of a typical white American family.
Feel free to “google” this issue on your own.
Frankly, the problem of wealth inequality, is something that the vast majority of Americans face– no matter what race or ethnicity they are.
However, the more money you have, the better off you generally are and will be overall treated.
This is the advice that Booker T. Washington gave to African-Americans in the Early 20th Century.
“We denounce this demonstration as dismissive and divisive,”
Let me see if I got this straight – an inherently discriminatory group is calling something divisive?
Not quite sure what to say here. I’ll go with ‘Too funny’
We need to get to the root issues which is in the document the forms the laws for this land and that is the constitution. It is there where racism was birthed. Telling a particular group of individuals that they are less then human , telling a particular group that they have a right to vote but under certain conditions. Let’s make amendments to that part of the constitution and then we can deal with racism in America. If it wasn’t for this it would be no white privilege because Black Wall Street that existed in Tulsa would have been the norm for the United States of America.
6elements, Let’s keep it real!– that is, the U.S. Constitution does not promote racism, and it also did not birth racism. Racism existed long before the U.S. Constitution was written.
The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution also already prohibits racial discrimination.
Federal laws, like 42 U.S. Code Section 1983 also already allows an American citizen to file a civil lawsuit against a government official, which includes a local police officer, who deprives him or her of a civil right guaranteed by federal law or the United States Constitution.
The real root cause of racism is human nature and the fact that too many people do not follow the Golden Rule– that is treat others like they would want to be treated.
FYI, 6elements, the very first black in North America was Juan Garrido, who was born in West Africa around 1480, and who joined the earliest conquistadors to the New World. Garrido practiced racism against native indians in the Americas. Garrido, like other conquistadors, participated in Hernando Cortes’ destruction of the Aztec empire. Garrido settled in Mexico City in 1524 for four years, and then began a gold mining operation with slave labor.
Racism against Native American Indians occurred before the first black slaves arrived in Jamestown, Virginia in 1619.
6elements, Juan Garrido has the title of the first African-American.
Juan Garrido was with the famous Spanish conquistador Ponce de Leon, when he invaded Puerto Rico in 1508 and also when he invaded Florida in 1513.
However, there were other black conquistadors who enslaved Indians and practiced racism long before the U.S. Constitution was written.
So if you want to use History to support your views, just remember that the very first African-American was not only a racist, but one who robbed, enslaved, and killed Native Indians for profit.
its funny how all these people who run the establishment system for decades are saying the system is racist. That makes them the racists. The rest of us are normal people interacting with whoever is around us. These radical leftists are fabricating a false reality where everyone is against black people because they don’t like their skin color. Lebrony even says we’re all racist even though he’s black and is worshipped.
