“I’ve been stuck across from Local West for 10 minutes,” she reported, more than an hour ago. “I can’t even drive around to get on a side street.”
“RTA [bus] just ran over a traffic barrel trying to merge,” she updated us later.
Then, in rapid succession:
- “I’ve made it to 57th Street.”
- “Please kill me.”
- “The side streets are also trash.”
- “Oh my god.”
So if the heat wasn’t your excuse for working from home this morning, traffic sure can be!
(We’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that now would be a golden opportunity to put some air in your tires and ride your bike to work. Or hop on the Rapid, a mode of transit unhindered by street conditions.)
We’ll also go ahead and mention for the record that vehicle emissions are now the “primary driver” of the region’s woeful air quality, according to NOACA’s Grace Gallucci. She and her team encourage folks to check out www.GohioCommute.com to plan their next trip.
BOY DOESN’T THIS LOOK FUN?
