Joe Jones defeated incumbent Terrell Pruitt in Ward 1 (Lee-Harvard). After election night, he was ahead by only nine votes. Once provisional ballots were counted, his lead was shaved to eight.
Basheer Jones unseated TJ Dow in Ward 7 (Hough). After election night, Jones’ lead was a mere 19 votes. It was reduced to 13 after provisional ballots were counted.
Because both races were extremely close — within 0.5 percent — so votes will be recounted. But as it stands, the Joneses are in.

No loss on either account. I live in ward 1, Pruitt was an absolute waste. He was rude and not attentive to the residents. Additionally, during his so called initial deployment, he appointed an individual that lived in Shaker Heights to take his place. In his case, lets see if he can survive in the real world working for a living.
With reference to Dowd, from what’s been reported about his actions, the election of B. Jones is a step in the right direction.
Overall it’s time for Cleveland to dramatically reduce the size of silly council. When comparing cities of similar population, Cleveland is very fat and ineffective in the so called legislative branch.
