If you’re wondering what the homemade sign policy is at Quicken Loans Arena, I’ll tell you: It can’t be bigger than “the size of your body” or you’re going to have to walk it back to your car.
This is important to know because I spent all day perfecting my giant Donnie Wahlberg head for last night’s NKOTBSB concert. Don’t laugh, he pointed at me. Seriously. I was on the Jumbotron.
There were two generations of fans at last night’s NKOTBSB show: the ’89ers and the ’99ers, which makes sense since the two groups in question are the New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys.
There may be a small divide among the groups’ fans, but they happen to share one thing: a love for cheesy music and lots and lots of crotch grabs.
The show went one for one, with the Backstreet Boys performing a song, then NKOTB. Back and forth all night. In between was a friendly mash-up of “Hangin’ Tough” and “I want It That Way.”
