Green Mayor Gerard Neugebauer told the Akron Beacon-Journal that the proximity of the city’s athletic fields to the pipeline’s proposed 8-mile path through the city (and other environmental arguments) were central to the U.S. 6th Circuit Court’s decision.
The 255-mile pipeline, a $2.1 billion project, will carry natural gas from the Utica shale play along the OH-PA border and will traverse many northern Ohio communities before turning toward Michigan and terminating at the Dawn Hub in Canada.
In August, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, complete with new Trump appointees, formally approved the Nexus project. Last month, FERC granted the final go-ahead to begin construction.
But now, Nexus cannot proceed with any construction within Green’s city limits until the issue is resolved in court. No date has been set for further arguments in this David v. Goliath battle.

Just go around the dickheads in Green and make sure not a penny of revenue from the pipeline goes to Green. Im fact shut off all fossil fuels to Green. Let them pray to the sun and wind gods as they sit in the dark and their economy dries up.
