Sherrod Brown isn’t going to be named one of the country’s best-dressed politicians anytime soon. No GQ photoshoot awaits the Senator, who at times can be described as frumpy, disheveled, and unkempt.
Which isn’t to say that Brown isn’t a fine looking man who suffers from the toll of his job. Yeah, our man could use some fashion tips here and there, but as a whole, he looks fine. Not a hobo, not Beckham.
But the image of Senator Brown that appears in a recent attack ad seems pretty rough. Like, homeless man by the river after a 40 of King Cobra rough. And where was that photo taken? With an infrared camera by Jack Bauer in a CIA detention prison?
Democrats say the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who was responsible for the ad, doctored the photo to make Connie Schultz’s husband look more unkempt than usual. As evidence, they point out that Brown doesn’t appear unshaven in public, and yet that’s exactly how he appears in the clip. Like an alcoholic who emerged from the back of a train after a 48-hour moonshine bender.
J.P. Fielder, a Chamber spokesman, said “I don’t have an answer to where the photo was changed, or if it was.” But he argued that the Democrats’ focus on the photo meant they didn’t want to talk about the substance.“He is running away from his record,” Fielder said, echoing the main theme of the ad, which also includes imagines of a man running and trying to find a place to hide. “That’s what we do with these ads is educate voters on where candidates stand.”

I think he looks like anyone would look if they had to battle the creepy republicans everyday. To me he looks pretty cool, like a bad ass in a movie. He looks confident and like he understands his enemy and has no fear of them because he knows they are blow-hards who have only one goal…to gain power and money and use it like a jack-hammer on every liberal, tree-hugging, poop flinging degenerate who comes into their radar. Senator Brown is being attacked in the same way every one who does not believe in the control-freaked out style of thinking which the republican party has held strong to. I’m sixty-one years old and I have never seen a more viscious party than the current day republican party. I have been for the republicans a few times in my life and I have been critical of the democrats behavior while W was trying to get out of office without getting any of the Chenny gang too pissed at him. Under the pressures W and his Dad were dealing with, I am happy they came out as they did. What we don’t realize is just how hard it is to be the president of the USA. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’ll put our worst president up against the best leaders in the world and in history in general and we will often win even that lop-sided bet. You can not be a bad leader to get, and stay in the high-level political jungle by being a prick or real bad man. Not in America. Hell, we won’t even have someone suspected of sex of any type but missionary position and with one partner and it must be your only sex partner for your entire life, or you will be hounded by the media and you may have pictures sent to you taken by private dicks of private dicks. Your private dick if you are under scrutiny. This will maybe get a little less crazy because of the Limy guy who got popped for being too much of a poporotsi dude, too crude.

I think the picture is an accurate portrait of current American Democrats.
When I think of Dems/Libs I see the jack booted union thugs that run Cuyahoga county with an iron fist. These are corrupt, very nasty people who will do anything to remain in power.
Sherrod Brown and the rest of the progressives are hell-bent on destroying anything that is left of our great country. I don’t even recognize our country after 3 years of Obama. He had control of the congress and all he did was pass a half-assed “healthcare” bill that is doing a wonderful job of scaring the shit out of the entire business community. Since they have no idea how this bill will effect them as it phases in, they won’t hire, they won’t create new businesses.

The long anti-liberal comment about union thugs and the Jimmy and Frank show is understandable and it is the very reason that Mr Brown and other good and smart democrats are being judged in North Ohio as the same as Jimmy and gang. Thanks Jimmy and Frank, and I ask again: Just who did you think you were going around acting like Jimmy the Mafia wanna-be, and Frank his crooked bean-counter. Politics and Cleveland have always been tough and rough and even dangerous…but I am telling you Cleveland and Ohio in general, when we were driven into the hands of the republican governor and the Columbus far right mentality you took us from the frying pan and into the fire. JK and the current right wing politics in Ohio is not working. The control -freak attempts are just getting warmed up. If SB5 would have stood up like it would have one year ago, the far right would have seen that as a green light to go against the people even more angered and militantly. Had it not been for the OWS movement most of us would still be thinking the republican power machine was OK and that the media which they control was their bought and paid for right. Did any one from the right try to see this mud-sling video for the cheap politics it really is. I am interested in debates with the right and now that I have a guy who I trust and respect from the right, Keven O’ of the PD, I think there can be some good civil debates conducted both on line and off. I am not either democrat or republican but liberal minded. I back many democrats like Obama and Mr Brown, but I really like the Green Party as a future party to be reckoned with.
As far as the union crooks, I’m not crazy about Jimmy Dimora, and the crew who took some money for handing out jobs, to who I know to be some of the most experienced contractors in the Cleveland area, but, they just don’t have as good of lawyers, or as nice of suits, as some of the crooks at the top do. I’m first off glad we have the unions, because that is one of the few places the common middle class worker can pool their money to support their candidates, while you have the big corporations legally bribing our leaders, in control of this country, no matter who is in the Whitehouse.
Sure does seem that way, Gary. The corporations would go back to child labor and exploitation of the masses in any way which produced money and power. One of the biggest things which has happened over the last twenty or thirty years is that the all mighty dollar even got almightier and more ruthless and most important concentrated even more in 1% of our billionaire corps and the people who own them have become in need of more and more and more…the age old problem of greed has become about as uncontested as ever and anywhere.
What pisses me off is that we started all of these products which get manufactured all over the world now, and we got squeezed and Scroodged by the retail empire which has forced manufacturers to send jobs elsewhere so that they can be competitive making the products we in America invented and sweat blood for…but now we can’t even be part of manufacturing these products because we cost too much. I call that selling our manufacturing jobs and the people who worked them under-the-bus. There is a push to get back some of our manufacturing jobs..The new simple products we put together for mass-export. Let the computers and robots do what makes sense, but get the humans back hands on and with the great feeling of making something useful.

Or is antisherrod an organizaition or extention of the party who hates all liberals and hates the current president of the USA? What are you for now that we know what you are against…? taxes like the rest of the right wing says they stand for..as in use the taxes the way the republicans say and not the dems or liberals…some might even say the people in general. So you like people other than those who agree with your anti stand? When we learn to be for something as our battlecry and not what we hate, we look so much more credible to all people.

I think that the Dispatch and the Wolfe Family have infiltrated the PD over the last couple of years after Jimmy and Frank made everything but the republican party vulnerable and easy to beat the crap out of. The PD had to sell out after they backed the governor and other anti people republican guys, and after Jimmy went to war with them before the shit hit the fan. Sherrod Brown is a good man. My hope is that the ignorant trailer-trash slobs in this state don’t fall for the GOP’s BS and boot him out the way they did Strickland. Where are the Democratic ads? The GOP began their campaign a year before the next election. It’s time our side began fighting back and telling the Repugnants to STFU and stop their endless barrage of lies.
