Over the past few weeks, at least nine businesses in the Gordon Square/Detroit Shoreway neighborhood have been burglarized, with five businesses experiencing break-ins in the last four days.

The Big Egg was broken into on Aug. 7, Frank’s Falafel House on Aug. 8, and Gordon Square Market on Aug. 18. After a two day hiatus, the burglaries continued on Aug. 20 at Stockyard Meats and Georgio’s Oven Fresh Pizza Co., Blazing Saddle Cycle on Aug. 21 (they also reported as burglarized on Aug. 6), Banter Beer and Wine on Aug. 22 (with the robbers also attempting to hit The Deli at 74th and Franklin), concluding with a break-in at Spice Kitchen + Bar last night on Aug. 23.

The Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization is working closely with the Second District Community Relations Committee to identify the perpetrators and ensure businesses are secure.

All of the crimes have followed similar patterns with break-ins occurring usually between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. by either breaking glass or forcing open a door. The perpetrators have been identified as two males, but sometimes only one male, wearing hoods tightly around the face and ransacking the place. Cash boxes, liquor, iPads and cameras are the most commonly targeted item.

Granular images from security cameras can be seen below. If you or others have any information that may lead us to their capture, please contact 2nd District Detective Bureau at 216-623-5218.

  1. I mean its completely unrelated to this article Brian, but you do seem like an uneducated POS.

Anyone who still supports that giant orange bag of shit is obviously not bright.

  2. Dont worry Detroit shoreway businesses. BJ is working hard to make sure those POS young criminals do t get punished. Theyll be back to plague your neighborhood soon. Thank BJ and Facebook for your demise.

  3. Brian’sBrain,

I don’t judge people based on their education, but progressives love to. My statement is a demonstration of irony. You might be “educated”, but that means nothing because it doesn’t take much to get some of the silly college degrees out there.

The irony is that morons like you judge Trump supporters as being uneducated while gleefully accepting support from the vast amount of uneducated minorities that vote for Democrats. The irony is even lost on LeBron James, who judges Trump supporters as being uneducated while being famously uneducated himself.

Another thing is that the claim that uneducated whites voted Trump (and that means something?) is stupid. If that’s the case, then uneducated whites also voted Obama in. The same voters that voted for Obama flipped the states for Trump in the election of 2016. So I guess it’s only okay if they vote Democrat.

Rational people are able to dismiss the nonsense grandstanding by the media and support Trump because the economy is great, he is anti-PC, and because he defeated the establishment, which is why on both sides they try so hard to bring him down. But progressives, who are mostly pawns of the media, are really smart and educated.

One thing is clear: the sophistication of my statement was way over your head.

  4. What does Trump or politics have to do with these break-ins? Since the economy is so good get your ass a job and stop destroying the neighborhood.
