Eric Deaton is the Constitution Party’s candidate to fill George Voinovich’s Senate seat.
The fringe candidate is one of many vying against Rob Portman and Lee Fisher, the big boys from the big parties.
Deaton, who has been endorsed by the Mansfield and Akron Tea Party groups, was already facing an uphill battle in garnering any votes.
What police claim Deaton did with an underage girl is not going to help.

Ah, He is the perfect political material. Do not address the allegation but instead question the motivation and the purpose of the accuser. It might have been helpful if the first words out of his mouth were a declaration of him NOT being with the girl. Eh well.

You people aren’t very patriotic, are you? Our great country allows us to be innocent until proven guilty, just in case you don’t know! I know Eric personally, and I support him until the verdict comes in. I don’t believe he is capable of this. He has a lovely wife and three beautiful children. He loves his family, and he’s an awesome dad who loves to have fun with his family. I believe these allegations are politically motivated because people like him, and just maybe he was a threat. Either way his life is ruined. Just the allegation puts a huge stain on his reputation. I, for one will be praying for Eric and his family, and praying the truth will be heard.
There have been plenty of married men who have touted the “family values” line lately that have been caught with their hot dog where it wasn’t supposed to be. Anyone remember the Governor who went to South America to canoodle with his mistress. The governeor who got busted with a stripper/prostitute. Larry Craig fishing for a “manly” man. People who want to get elected will spew all sorts of garbage in order to get elected. How many people who are all for family values are on their second or third marriage because they got bored with the last spouse. Just because he has a lovely wife and 3 beautiful children doesn’t mean he is a saint by any stretch of the imagination. Remember Strom Thurmond’s family didn’t even know he had a black mistress and biracial kids until after he was dead and he was against blacks having any rights at all.
