A fake Plain Dealer Twitter account, @ClevPlainDealer, sprouted up today to spread news that Chip Kelly had signed a five-year contract with the Browns:

It was untrue, but the account’s lone tweet garnered dozens of retweets following publication.

The PD’s Mary Kay Cabot confirmed via Twitter nearly simultaneously that the Browns’ interview with Kelly is presently under way.
