In honor of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ recent nomination for the shortlist of artists eligible to get in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year, we have a whole bunch of their albums to giveaway — their entire Warner Bros. catalog plus a DVD, in fact. That’s nine items in all!
If you want this motherlode of Chili Peppers CDs, all you have to do is leave a comment about what cover song the band should play at the induction ceremony if they can make it in next year. We’ll pick a winner by the end of the day.
Be sure that you’re registered with a valid e-mail address. We need that to tell you if you’ve won. Also, you have to come to our office in beautiful downtown Cleveland to claim your prize.

Either Give It Away or The Zephyr Song. Too hard for me to choose one…
I’m thinking Give it Away. But it was a toss up between that and The Zephyr Song.
Stick to the roots with Parliament-Funkadelic.
More specifically No Head No Backstage Pass, keep it classy.
They should cover 1 2 X U by wire and stick it to the corporate rock man.
They would definitely need to cover a song by an artist already in the rock hall, so I think they should cover Chuck Berry’s “My Ding A Ling”. I bet Anthony Kiedis could really rock that one out!

I WANNA BE SEDATED BY THE RAMONES PEPPERS JUST HAVE THAT RAW ENERGY!!!!GO PEPPERS!
Calling Dr. Love by Kiss that might send a message to the rock hall committee or Rock N’ Roll All Nite that speaks for itself!
Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin. The first concert I ever saw was the Chili Peppers…AND it’s my birthday, so I definitely deserve to win this one. :0)
Shakedown Street by The Grateful Dead….the Peppers could absolutely rock that funky, bass-heavy beat
They should cover Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Freebird!!!
Superstition by Stevie Wonder!
By the Way would be a great choice. Their cover of Higher Ground would be sweet too.
Cover song? Cover song? They don’t need no stinkin’ cover song!
Love my Chili Peppers!!
Fame by David Bowie.
“Give It Away” is the best song by far and believe it’s pretty much the anthem song for the Peppers……so please oh please CSM, GIVE IT AWAY, to little oh me.
Psycho Killer by Talking Heads. Would love to hear how they adapt that song.
“The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis and the News because Flea is the best character in any movie as Needles in Back to the Future, it has a great guitar solo that they would completely rock out, Anthony would be perfect on vocals, and RHCP is definitely about the power of love.
Hot Tamales and the Red Hots. Robert Johnston. Crazy rock roots of the blues. They would kill that song. In a good fashion I mean. I would like RHCP to cover, and not just because it’s thematic. Where do I register my email?
Framed by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band!
Lotta Love by Neil Young !
Havanna Affair!
They usually rock out well with search and destroy from Iggy! so why not?
It would be cool if they did a tribute to John and covered Central from The Empyrean.
Would love to see a cover of Rockin’ in the Free World by Neil Young.
They should play band on the run by wings.
Foxy Lady – Jimi Hendrix
Pennyroyal Tea By Nirvana
Body & Soul by Thelonious Monster
`give it away`, is what they are doing all the time…
the beach boys – surfin’ usa
New Dawn Fades by Joy Division or Beach Boys – I get around.
i wanna see Fire by Jimi Hendrix, ’cause it’s a trademark by the early Chili 😀
Why don’t you love me by Hank Williams!
I’m still dying to hear a high quality recording of them covering Neil Young’s “A Man Needs a Maid”, but as thats not exactly an up tempo rocker like I think they’d be gunning for, I’ll say I think they could pull of a wicked version of King Crimsons “21st Century Schizoid Man” (and that may even coax Frusciante out of hiding to lay down some Fripp inspired lines we all know he could whip out in a moments notice).
Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder
Doobie Brothers – Listen To The Music
One Nation Under a Groove – Parliament Funkadelic
Song from them to all of us, same groove and sound they specialize in, they’d be able to really turn it up a notch!
