This is a sad story, so just buckle up. Why it’s sad is pretty clear on the surface (dead kid), but hanging behind the headline tragedy is a trainwreck of recklessness, both on personal and official levels. Reasons, details, and accountability — it’s all mucked up at this point. What is pretty clear? Authority figures who should have been in the driver’s seat failed to take responsibility for a young guy just trying to do right by his family and country.

Army should be held responisble for his death since they were the catalyst for it. What an absolute waste of life.
his mother should have stepped in, a friend- anybody knows that much weight so quickly is very unhealthy. my daughter’s trying to drop 50 for the Coast Guard and they’re telling her diet and exercise were the way to go. this poor family…

You can’t tell me that no one noticed that he was loosing so much weight so fas. Where was his Mother and brother when all this happened. Did they not even notice? I am not sure that the Army should take all the blame his Mother, brother or family member should of stepped and said something is not right too much weight loss to fast.

His mother and family did try and step in!!!!!!!! They had no idea of what was going on the whole time!!!! Not every parent has the the opportunity of staying home and monitoring their adult children, some people work very long hours to try and survive! Negligence is still implicated on the recruiters part. This is not by any means a isolated case! There is a code of silence in the military!! Don’t jump to conclussions without knowing all the information!
