Perhaps Governor John Kasich moved his second State of the State address from its traditional Statehouse location to an elementary school in Steubenville hoping to keep the media spotlight off him. If so, he failed. On Tuesday he delivered yet another loopy, disjointed and totally improvised speech packed with what Huffington Post described the next day as “bizarre” statements. That’ll be déjà vu for those who remember last year’s speech in which, among other things, he promised not to “wear that silly hat that Voinovich wore” and related how a little girl had said to him, “Please Mister, don’t tax my eggs.”
This year’s speech features an imitation of a Parkinson’s patient and 14 shout-outs to OSU President Gordon Gee. (Seriously, 14? Anyone think Kasich has a man-crush on him?)
National business news website Business Insider chimed in, dubbing it “the craziest political speech of the year.”

Didn’t see anything wrong with the Parkinson’s thing. I guess Pantsios is just participating in manufactured outrage, which is what one would expect from such a hardcore Democrat partisan like herself. Didn’t see the full speech, just the clip related to Parkinson’s, so I haven’t formed an opinion on everything else. We’re completely drowning in Cleveland from the massive flood of corruption from the local Democratic Party – the crooks who have destroyed this city and county over the last 50 years and made it the poorest, most screwed up, and most rapidly depopulating spot in the entire nation – so I can’t get myself worked up over Pantsios’ fake scandals.
Thank the God his term is half over.
kreepy kriminal klown.
Granted, Kasich is not a polished speaker but spoke about a lot of substantive and positive issues such as jobs and bringing manufacturing back to the state, education, the state budget, medical research, infrastructure, etc. So, to dwell his weakness as a speaker and overlook the substance of what’s he saying is, in my view, a distorted and unfair assessment.
Well…We could have voted a Demora clone into office and REALLY have something to pi$$ and moan about…
Well, I didn’t see his speech and to be honest I don’t want to waste an hour and a half watching it. It seems, however, that this would not go down as the greatest speech since the Gettysburg Address.
Mason…Pantsios is one of the best reporters in Cleveland and for you to blame her for Jimmy and Frank and the other democrats corruption is typical, opportunistic, right wing horse shit. Take a good look at what the republicans are doing to make things better in this city, state and country and if you are fair about it you will realize that they are worse than the Jimmy and Frank show because they are doing their damage and attacks on the people with the legal and money backing of 1) The Norquist Pledge and 2) The supreme court and 3) the power of giant money and giant corporations.
