“The Harris Stanton Gallery is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Art-tini Auction,” says Gallery Director Ellie Kaiser. “In April, the Cleveland gallery will continue the philanthropic tradition we have held at the Akron gallery for nearly thirty years. Our Art-tini Art Auction (formerly known as the Absolute Art Auction) is a silent auction benefitting the Akron Art Museum at our Akron location. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the museum to use as they see fit.”
Malou Monago, vice president of Institutional Advancement at the Cleveland Institute of Art, credits CIA Advisory Board member Meg Stanton for using this event to highlight the need for scholarship support. “It’s so gratifying to know that our community partners are passionate about what CIA does to prepare the next generation of artists and designers. A full 98 percent of our students receive some sort of scholarship toward their education, so the work that Harris-Stanton is doing with this event is crucial. Plus, there’s something special about knowing that if you come out to buy art, you’re supporting not just the person who made that work, but an art student as well.”
More than 80 works of art by international and regional artists and craftspeople represented by Harris Stanton Gallery are available. Bidding culminates with a Martini Tasting Party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 15. Your $15 admission will be fully donated to the scholarship fund.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Discounted parking is available in the lot across the street the night of the event by presenting the event postcard (available at the gallery) Select works from this exhibition may be previewed on the gallery website beginning April 8.
