By now, you’ve most likely heard the big news- The Price is Right Live is coming to Cleveland’s PlayhouseSquare Theater in October. You’ve also most likely purchased your tickets, which went on sale yesterday.

With excitement bubbling and tickets on pre-order, the next logical question is, of course, How the heck do I come home with all those fancy prizes??

Lucky for you, two former winners, Ben Robinson and Terry Kniess, have developed “highly scientific” and “foolproof” tactics for getting invited up on stage and for walking away with the good stuff.

While you can read their complete stories here and here, we’ve developed a quick six-step summary, based on their combined experiences.

Naturally, those of us here at Scene can’t personally guarantee that these strategies are “foolproof,” because hey- none of us have ever been on the show- but we can say one thing: they sure did work for these two guys.

Might as well give it a shot.

Here are their six secrets to winning like a boss on The Price is Right.

  1. I think the more important skill is to be able to stuff a ballot box. Sorry to bring you down, but the Cleveland version of the show is picking people at random. From the playhouse square website:

    “CONTESTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION. All participants who want to register to become a possible contestant must do so at the Registration Table in the box office lobby. Registration will begin 3 hours prior to the show (4:30PM). Participants will fill out a drawing card and be given a name tag. The time of registration has no bearing on the chances of being chosen as the cards are drawn at random during the show.”

  2. Supposedly you do not have to purchase a ticket in order to be chosen to participate on the show as well. This isn’t a live taping or anything for the actual show, so Drew Carey won’t be there either.

  3. Random is better. The interview process they do in Hollywood is very annoying and time consuming. I assume they don’t care who gets picked for this because it’s not televised.

  4. Well I bean waiting 32 years to go to the prices Right my dad use to what this show a lot and I promise him that one day I was going to be there for him

I find you really up chances with a unique designed T shirt and it’s best to your advantage to gear that design towards the show’s special events such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Veteran’s Day, Teacher’s special, Celebrity Week, Bachelor and Bachelorette, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July,
    Summer Beach Party etc. Just check the TPIR show calendar. I found the best designed shirts online by using Google and the search words… “The Price Is Right TV Game Show T shirts” for a variety of designs. Red Bubble and Spreadshirt has the best shirts. I would also recommend looking at the designs on t shirt dresses, leggings and skirts to grab the contestant coordinator’s attention and holding up a TPIR designed scarf. I noticed people who go in groups sit in the front lately.
