[image-1]A preeminent humor writer, David Sedaris has published a number of books over the course of a career that dates back a few decades now. His bestselling books include Barrel Fever, Holidays on Ice, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and When You Are Engulfed in Flames.

He’s put up some impressive numbers too: some seven million copies of his books are in print, and they’ve been translated into 25 languages. A terrific speaker, Sedaris has been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word and Best Comedy Album. The Akron Civic Theatre has just announced An Evening with David Sedaris, which takes place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16. Today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Civic hosts a special presale.
