What had been rumored for some time is now official: Cleveland is hosting the 2021 NFL Draft, the league announced today.

“Cleveland has a passionate fan base and the city offers distinctive iconic locations and attractions that will bring the NFL Draft experience to fans in unique and exciting ways,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a press conference today, explaining how Cleveland was picked.

To celebrate this huge get, city tourism bureau Destination Cleveland is throwing a tailgate party on Public Square Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

The event, which is free for all, is set to include burgers, beer and some sort of announcement. You can also expect appearances from stoked city leaders, die-hard Browns fans and even Brownie the Elf.
