So what’s a few lost jobs to a well-fed, well-tanned congressman like John Boehner? Not much, apparently.
At a press conference in Washington D.C. yesterday, the Speaker of the House claimed that President Obama has swollen the government payroll by 200,000 jobs (Democrats put it at closer to 20,000) and said, “If some of those jobs are lost so be it. We’re broke.”
The House has begun debating legislation that would cut $61 billion from current spending for the remainder of the fiscal year ending on September 30, equivalent to a 14 percent reduction.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner warned Republicans on Tuesday against cutting spending too quickly, calling for gradual deficit reduction to avoid endangering the economic recovery.
Never mind that, like almost every other candidate last year, Boehner campaigned on a promise to create jobs. Perhaps he plans to hire a lot of new caddies to work for him on the 100-plus golf outings he takes per year. — Anastasia Pantsios

Boehner is right. Many government jobs are redundant and a hidden welfare program.
Many government employees could not maintain a fast food job because they can’t get in on time. The money taxed from private producers and wasted on government excess would be better left in the hands of the producers who saw it seized.
+1 Too much of our tax money is just wasted! Programs that try and save money are penalized by having their budgets cut the following year, I guess I need some tree hugging tax loving libreal to explain why that is. When the government is the largest employer in this or any country it’s bound to fail. “Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat” a lesson by a liberal for you liberals
Lets not forget that under former Pres. George W. Bush had combined our intelligence agencies after 9/11 to create the government largest bureacracy since FDR in the Great Depression which in turn raised our decifit to trillions of dollars. This was going before Obama got into the White House. IF Rep John Boehner wants to save money, cut Congress free health benefits that we tax payers are paying for them.
