Ohio Governor John Kasich has been stumping for the heading-for-defeat Issue 2 around the Buckeye State. Kasich, when asked whether his tour around Ohio could stir a last-minute upset, he made an analogy. A sports one. A wrong one. Even for a Steelers fan like himself.

“We never thought (former Cleveland Browns quarterback) Bernie Kosar would bring the Browns back and win that big championship game,” Kasich said.

  1. How can this man possibly be Govenor of Ohio and be a Steelers fans? It’s just not right.

  2. I think he got the quarterback wrong. I believe he was thinking of either Otto Graham (7 wins) or Frank Ryan (1 win) who won “championships” for the Cleveland Browns. Yes, before the Super Bowls they were called championships and Cleveland has 8 of them. Thats one more than the Steelers. Super Bowl and Championships are still the same, only the name has changed.

  3. Oh, and maybe Kasich read Horace Greeley as a kid and did “go west young man”. Just a little bit west.

  4. Maybe a divisional championship. At any rate, we do have a governor who is from Reading PA and who thinks he is the reason a few businesses have stayed in Ohio, and he attacks our cops, nurses, firefighters and teachers..and he hates the president of the USA and more than half of the people as well, and he never served in the military. How did he become governor of the great state of Ohio? Partly because of the Jimmy and Frank show which made everyone around here distrust all democrats..and then there were republicans getting seats everywhere in politics because people think republicans are smart on ecconomy problems..think again, cause they are just as stupid as the other party. Two party system creates blame and finger pointing and scapegoating and poor government..Go Green Party!

  5. Where is the Superbowl mentioned in his statement? Maybe he was referring to division championships, of which the Browns have won several times with Bernie at quarterback.
The writer sounds like another douche that thinks he is more brilliant than everyone else because writes for a free paper.
Not to worry, Vince. I am sure the NY Times will be knocking your door down after they see this incredible literary masterpiece of yours!
