On November 30, Kent State President Lester Lefton announced the school would be getting rid of winter and summer commencement ceremonies, due to the wishes of the student body. That means everyone, regardless of when they actually finish their degree requirements, would receive their diplomas during the new official graduation ceremony in the spring.
Tuesday, however, Lefton reversed course, declaring that the school will keep the three separate commencement ceremonies after all. He said the reversal was made in light of the wishes of the student body.
In other Kent news, Lefton has instituted a campus-wide ban on alcohol and sex, in accordance with the wishes of the student body. — Rebecca Meiser
