And then there were none.
In mid-November, the last remaining location of Sushi Rock – once the zenith of fashionable dining – closed its doors. Located at the La Place shopping center (2101 Richmond Rd.) since it opened in 2005, the restaurant officially “closed for remodeling” on November 17.
Those exact words were used to describe the restaurant group’s sudden closure of its Warehouse District location, which survived from 2000 until 2012. One year later, Sushi Rock in the Short North closed after a four-year run as a result of supposed “lease negotiation issues.”
Owners Tom Culkar, John Kostoglou, George Papandreas and Don Tripi could not be reached for comment.
This article appears in Nov 26 – Dec 2, 2014.

They couldn’t be reached for comment because they’re too busy being sued for sexual harassment.
tom culkar was stealing from the company and is currently being sued by other two owners. Dr john is now afficted to cocain and spends all sushi rock revenue on his drug problem. George and Don were good guys and suffered at other peoples expencies.
Poor quality sushi will do that.
Don tripi was the ONLY REASON THAT PLACE LASTED AS LONG AS IT DID. there ain’t much else to say about the owners other than their ability to make money rested in the strong desire to be high all the damn time
I knew it was a matter of time before Dushi Rock was done! No it’s not a miss print either. Dushi Rock…Nothing but a bunch of True Religion, Ed Hardy wearing 50 year old Chachi, Douch bags that hung out, and ran that place. Good ridins DUSHI ROCK!!!
Kind of sad, really. I remember when Sushi Rock actually was a nice place that people wanted to go to. I stopped going there a while ago, but back when I went there I never had a bad experience or bad time. It just goes to show you that a restaurant that’s sitting on top of the town one year can be laying in pieces a short time later.
The warehouse district location is now Holy Craft!… A very unpretentious craft beer bar with great food!
