Proof positive that the cupcake craze is not slowing up, Kimberly Martin, owner of Main Street Cupcakes, says that store number four will open on February 4, 2014. The location is 9 N. Franklin Street in Chagrin Falls, formerly House of Davidian Oriental Rugs. The bakeshop joins others in Hudson, Rocky River and Medina.

Launched in 2007, the quaint little Hudson-based cupcakery was the first cupcake-only shop to open in Ohio. It has since blossomed into a national brand, available to customers everywhere thanks to the Home Shopping Network.

Fans of the other shops will see the same layout and selection, promises Martin.

  1. Glad to have them in Chagrin Falls, down the street from my house…. That the cupcakes aren’t all that good and that they take that time-saving/cheating step of squirting on the frosting instead of hand icing each cupcake like even massively successful/high volume bakeries like Sprinkles do, is my main gripe with them. But who am I?

  2. I think the cupcake craze has slowed, I’m not sure why places keep opening. A cupcake is about the easiest thing to bake out there. I’m more willing to pay $3 for something that takes effort and labor, like a croissant or something.

  3. Bought some cupcakes from the store in Hudson – they were dried up by the time we got them home. Eat them quickly & don’t buy a lot at one time!!
