While assorted Cuyahoga County Commissioners ponder their future in politics and jumpsuits, Peter Lawson Jones is following two very different paths: fatherhood and theater.

He has earned widespread praise for the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative, launched six years ago to help absent fathers be more involved in their kids’ lives. Now Jones wants to take the program nationwide.

He’s working with groups across the country to build support, and he’s hoping for half a million signatures on petitions to present to the White House by Father’s Day.

Vince Grzegorek has been with Scene since 2007 and editor-in-chief since 2012. He previously worked at Discount Drug Mart and Texas Roadhouse.
