No one wants to be stuck in the middle seat. Things can get even more squished if the folks on either side of you are larger than your average human being.

Now, there are good ways and bad ways to handle that situation. Good way: a polite word or two, a joke, a smile.

Bad way: letting the guy next to you, who happens to be Browns lineman Phil Taylor, catch you texting your friend that there’s a big “black” guy next to you, adding “FML.”
