First, RIP Terry Oblander. Tremendous reporter, Pulitzer, winner, longtime Northeast Ohio scribe, respected writer, and weekly source of fun with Public Squares. Oblander, 64, passed away this weekend at the Cleveland Clinic.

Second, the PD’s obituary for Oblander, complete though it may seem, fails to mention one key detail about his life: he was laid off by the paper in 2008 just before Christmas.

The obit reads: “He left the paper in 2008.”

Not exactly quality reporting there.

RIP, Terry.
