I was in Columbus recently and noticed the Wexner center was screening a series of rare baseball films from the Baseball Hall of Fame in a production curated by Dave Filipi. I was kind of pissed because it sounded interesting but not worth driving to Columbus for.
Well, thankfully, the series is coming to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Dave Filipi, curator of film and video at the Wexner Center in Columbus, has created an all-new program of short films pulled from the collection of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Rare Films from the Baseball Hall of Fame screens Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30 p.m. and includes home movies, commercials and other excerpts that give a better view into the lives of some of the best players in baseball’s past, such as Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle and Rocky Colavito.
