Reports trickled in early this morning that Rover (real name: Shane French), morning show host for the conveniently named Rover’s Morning Glory show over at WMMS, was arrested at 3:30 a.m.(ish) last night/this morning at Whiskey Island for drunk and disorderly conduct. (Update: He was, in the words of one police source, “hammered,” but the incident started when Rover was setting off fireworks at 3:30 at the Old River Yacht Club.)
Apparently he’s still sitting in jail this morning, enjoying that post-July 4th hangover in the quiet, comforted seclusion of a cell.

I was at whiskey island. Enjoyed watching the tall ships come into the river. No one was a big enough jerk that they needed to be arrested.

C may LY, but Shane’s show has bombed in every other market he’s been on. (The Zone is an also-ran rock station where he gets his lunch handed to him by The Fox’s Brother Wease, so Rochester is an affiliate in theory.) If CBS didn’t hire DLR, Shane would have been the biggest failure of their “FreeFM” experiment.

His show is predictable , boring… and his only talent is shit-talking, I kinda liked his show ten years ago, but it has not really improved. He doesn’t get many well known guests, and has a very limited circle of celbs or personalities that come on the show. Opie & Anthony Rules…Stern is better than Rover too. Deiter is funnier than Rover.
BTW, he has Cleveland for 10 or 12 years, and was even rejected in his own hometown of Chicago when he moved his broadcasts to there….and we still have to look at that dumb Chicago Cubs hat….. Go home and wear that shit. LOL

Setting off firework in front of, and right at, a police officer, is just “having fun.” Good to know Rover has sewn up unanimous support from the deadbeats, the illiterate, the reprobates and those with enough intellect to barely be able to tie their own shoes without drooling all over the place.

I’ve really been against the Cleveland celebrities that have been getting arrested for drunk driving lately, but comparing what Rover did to drunk driving is ridiculous. He didn’t make the horrible decision to get behind the wheel and try to drive while drunk, he just set off fireworks on the fourth of july like pretty much everyone else did. Unless he was launching fireworks into people’s houses, what he did in no way endangered lives like drunk driving would have.
I don’t listen to Rover because I am at work from 8 to 5….
I caught him a couple times a few years ago and I can say that he isn’t a Howard Stern….
