Seven Hills Councilman David Bentkowski Is Now Suing the Ohio Lottery Commission

David Bentkowski likes suing people.

He thinks that his background as a lawyer makes him qualified to enter into legal disputes and his voracious appetite for accusing everyone in the world of fucking up his life makes him qualified to speak out loud, apparently believing that people think he’s anything other than a joke who has brought this all on himself.

Bentkowski resigned from his part-time mayor post in Seven Hills awhile back to take a job at the Ohio Lottery Commission — an appointed position.

And then a 600-page-plus police file from Seven Hills was unleashed upon the public, the voters, and ostensibly, his bosses at the Commission. It detailed Bentkowski’s long, paranoid effort during his time as mayor to investigate commenters on the Seven Hills forum on Cleveland.com who were leaving unflattering remarks about his abilities. No crimes were found to be committed, but that didn’t stop Bentkowski from badgering the city’s prosecutor and police chief to investigate his claims. And then Bentkowski was fired.

And then Bentkowski sued just about everyone living and working in Seven Hills, alleging that it was a conspiracy to release a private file to publicly embarrass him. (That’s patently untrue and he’ll likely lose that case.)

Now, he’s suing the Ohio Lottery Commission for $1 million with allegations of wrongful discharge and “retaliation as a result of protected activity.”
