The Fixers dropped the first of seven videos today, the first paving stone in the path toward their deep narrative that will fill out in the run-up to the Republcan National Convention. (Our visual arts editor called it “the most important art project in Cleveland this year, and perhaps, the most important ever.”)

According to the group: “Through The Fixers, [Cleveland artist Kate] Sopko has asked Clevelanders invested in urban vitality and social equity what tour of the city they would give RNC delegates if they had the chance.”

This first video focuses on Tanese Horton, a site coordinator at Harvey Rice Elementary School, one of Cleveland’s 25 “wraparound” schools. 

An opening reception will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. tonight at SPACES, 2220 Superior Viaduct. The Fixers’ work will be on view through July 21.
