Laura Morrison, please don’t report in the passive voice. WHO opened the Terminal Tower Observation Deck to the public for Saturdays and Sundays? WHY won’t they pony up for a live person at a ticket booth so people can go on a clear day. You hint at the problems, here, Ms. Morrison, but you don’t give the reader any ammunition with which to address them.
Access is only available on Saturday and Sundays, visitors must first sign up ahead of time and gamble on the weather conditions, limit their viewing time to 25 minutes, walk-up ticket sales are not accepted despite last-minute good viewing weather, and sign-up times only run from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Wow. Just…wow…
Better to keep it closed than to make folks jump through all these hoops.
What complete and total bullshit!
How about a couple of web cams so anyone can take a look any time of the year.
Literally two seconds on the eventbrite app and boom you have a ticket. Not exactly “hoops” to go through. I for one praise them for opening it up in the first place when so many cities don’t even bother outside the normal tourist traps.
Yeah, right…what happens if there’s rain, snow, fog, or just low clouds? Do you get a refund? Or do you just choose between going anyway or eating the cost of the tickets? Whatever happened to just saying “Hey, it’s sunny and clear and there’s great visibility! Let’s go to the Terminal Tower!” on the spur of the moment. i understand the need for ticketing and crowd controi, but you can’t control the weather, so buying tickets early seems like a big gamble, unless you can postpone your visit.
