For all you feline lovers out there, good news waits around the corner in 2019. affoGATO Cat Cafe, Cleveland's first such establishment, will open its doors on Jan. 2, 2019, in the former Lilly's space in Tremont (761 Starkweather).

What is a cat cafe? Here's their mission in their own words:

We provide a safe home for adoptable cats. You can then pay a small cover charge to relax, work, and enjoy coffee and snacks with these friendly felines. We will partner with several local businesses and artists in order to host fun, unique events and produce food, drinks, and merchandise.

We’re more than a cafe. We strive to be the heart of our community by bringing together cats, people, and businesses for the benefit of all. As such, we also hope to expand to additional community services and outreach programs in the near future.

And here's the grand opening announcement, with exactly as many cat puns as you'd expect:

We are happy to announce that affoGATO Cat Cafe will open on Wednesday, January 2, 2019!

Thank you so much to our family, friends, and community! We have accomplished so much thanks to your support, and we are excited to finally open our doors.

We’re moving cats in tomorrow, so keep an eye on our social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) for some pics and videos of the big event! We will also update our cat profiles once we get to know our new friends!

GoFundMe donors, keep a close eye on your emails for the next several days, we will be sending some important info about getting your final purrks! We will also be launching public reservations for everyone starting sometime next week, and will make an announcement here on our blog and on social media.

Finally, if you’re still looking for the purrfect gift for the cat-lover in your life, we have gift cards available online, which can be used for coffee, snacks, and merchandise in the cafe, or to make lounge reservations once they’re available.

Enjoy your Pawliday Season, and we’ll see you in the Mew Year!
Make a reservation and find more info at their site.
