Students at Woodbury Elementary School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, are confident that they’ve set a Guinness World Record for the largest Hot Wheels loop-the-loop in the history of humankind. #ThisisCle

At a fundraising ceremony yesterday afternoon, a Hot Wheels toy car traveled from a 24-foot platform and successfully completed the nine-foot, nine-inch loop. The previous Guinness Record was nine feet, three inches. (The dutiful souls at NEOMG reminds us that the students had parental help — SO DON’T GIVE THEM TOO MUCH CREDIT!)

Students raised more than $10,000 for the event, which included the ceremonial shearing of Principal Randall Yates’ mustache, a mustache he reportedly had been wearing without interruption for 25 years.

Maybe these future engineers can help design a re-imagined Geauga Lake.

  1. Good job and congrats to all the kids. It’s great that they can say they were a part of that.
