Downtown Cleveland Alliance and the NineTwelve District will kick off the popular Walnut Wednesday food truck meet-up next Wednesday, May 1. Now in its third year, the weekly event attracts a dozen or more food trucks — and the people who love them — to Walnut Avenue and E. 12th Street. Hours this year run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The event runs through Wednesday, September 25.
The meet-up was relocated last year to take advantage of the newly revitalized Perk Plaza at Chester Commons, which has generous seating for diners to sit and eat. Live music will be featured each week, courtesy of 87.7 FM Cleveland’s Sound.
“Walnut Wednesday, which has grown increasingly popular over the years, has helped reintroduce downtown workers and residents to the NineTwelve District,” said Joe Marinucci, president and CEO of DCA.
Back for a second year is Pop-Up Parties at Perk Plaza, which will commence Thursday, May 16. Running through August, these monthly after work happy hours feature live bands and booze from Great Lakes Brewing Company, and have quickly become popular gatherings for young professionals.
