Here's a piece 'o news that might interest locals: The world's biggest pierogi was built last week, clocking in at a massive 123 pounds.
Chefs at Pittsburgh's Rivers Casino created the beast which had to be cooked in a custom 27-by-36-inch stainless-steel contraption.
“This is the largest thing I’ve ever made, period,” executive chef Richard Marmion told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. “And I’ve made a lot of stuff.”
The dumpling was made with over 25 pounds of flour and stuffed with 82 pounds of cheddar cheese mashed potatoes, earning a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Here's a video, courtesy of the Post Gazette, of the chefs and their creation.
