Hypnotist Gets Raunchy

Cleveland theater
Believe it or not, there's more than one comedian using the name Sandman. If you're wondering which one is appearing at the Funny Stop tonight, it's the hypnotist-comic from Nashville, who was born Jesse Conner. "There are five of us," says Conner. "And nobody can copyright the name, because it's been used so much. But we know who's who." For those scoring at home — or reading alone — Conner is the one who does "an adult-themed, dirty show that gets pretty rank," he says. "It's where I get to let everything hang out, if you know what I mean." Well, he won't let his naughty bits dangle, but he does get audience members to spank each other and simulate sex onstage. "Sometimes you might get a more reserved crowd," he says. "So you have to take it slow and see how far you can go. If you really have some wild ones, you can go all the way."
