Three first-time filmmakers from Lakewood are auditioning roles in their lowbrow action flick, Jesus Rocks (Razor Cat). The short is the brainchild of Matt McNeely and two buddies, who were inspired by the Bearded Child Film Festival tour, which stopped in Cleveland a couple of years ago. “Some of the movies were so low-budget that it made us think that we wanted to do something like that,” says McNeely. “We thought we would do something blatantly offensive to get it through to the Bearded Child audience.” @cal body 1:Jesus Rocks (Razor Cat) centers on a beer-chugging, acid-dropping Christ who hangs out at a concert with a feisty feline. Along with the two leads, a dozen other actors are needed to play partying apostles. One drawback: All roles are unpaid. “Obviously, we intend to offend a certain segment of the population,” says McNeely.
