You probably made a New Year’s resolution in a drunken haze about a week and a half ago. You also probably haven’t done a damn thing about it. Kim Langley is here to help. At today’s Fine Art of Goal Setting program, Langley — president of Lakewood-based LifeBalance Enterprises, which holds self-help seminars around town — will show you how to keep that resolution. “It’s an amazing fact that the majority of Americans are unable to articulate goals for their lives,” she says. “Yet we passed up the Japanese a few years ago as the most working culture on the face of the earth.” In other words: We’re working our butts off, with little objective or purpose. Langley advises folks to write down their goals and come up with a plan to overcome any obstacles that might stand in the way. If nothing else, you’ll be around much longer to appreciate the fruits of your labor. “Optimists outlive pessimists,” says Langley, who will provide step-by-step plans on how to set goals.
