A classic film starring Gene Kelly as Danny McGuire and Rita Hayworth as Rusty Parker, Cover Girl tells the tale of a Brooklyn girl who dances in a nightclub with aspirations of making it big as a Broadway dancer. She's picked to be the “cover girl” for Vanity magazine during a modeling contest. Rusty eventually becomes a star on Broadway, and her boyfriend Danny worries that he will be left behind as she rises to fame. The musical kicks off the Gene Kelly film festival today at 1:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Tickets are $9. It's the first of five Kelly films the museum will screen. (Lisa Hammond)
