Old World Order

CWRU visiting professor Kevin Dicus must have accrued some serious frequent flyer miles in the course of his career. Dicus, who specializes in the archaeology of Italy (in particular the Etruscan and mid- to late-Roman Republican periods), has a notable resume. He’s supervised the excavation of a Roman-period healing spring at Chianciano Terme and was involved in the excavations of an Etruscan necropolis and Roman villa rustica. For the past eight years, he’s supervised excavations at Pompeii, where he studies “the changes domestic spaces underwent over the course of 300 years of occupation.” He’ll talk about his work tonight at the Happy Dog in a lecture that’s part of the Dog’s Life, the Universe & Hot Dogs series. The event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are free. (Niesel)
